Best in Field: Bringing British Herefords Online

Branding, design and digital storytelling for a breed with serious pedigree.
When British Herefords came to Ripple, they weren’t just looking for a new website.
They wanted a home for their brand. One that honoured their legacy while setting them up for the future. A place where heritage, quality, and community could come together with clarity and confidence.
This wasn’t our usual terrain (we’re more hard hats than herds), but the challenge played to our strengths: strategic thinking, creative clarity and deep collaboration.
Branding with purpose
From the outset, this was a full brand project. We worked closely with the Herefords team to define their tone of voice, sharpen their personality, and create a clear, compelling brand that felt as true to their roots as it was ready to grow.
This wasn’t about chasing trends. It was about building something that reflected real substance - and stood out by staying grounded.
Mapping the herd
Scoping a website shouldn’t be complicated. But it should be spot on. The trick is to keep things simple, while still hitting every note the brand needs to sing.
For British Herefords, that meant designing a clean, confident structure that carried the weight of history, the pride of quality, and the rhythm of a working organisation.
Here’s how we shaped that for British Herefords:
- Home – a warm welcome and strong sense of identity
- History - tradition told cleanly, without clutter
- Farms - where the brand’s real-life roots and network live
- The Beef – quality, traceability and trust made visible
- Team – the people behind the pedigree
- Blog – space for insight, updates and stories
- Contact – clear, useful, and easy to act on
Each section has a job to do — and together, they deliver a seamless, purposeful brand experience.
Designed to deliver
Visually, we kept things fresh and unfussy. The design lets the photography do the heavy lifting, while the layout and user journey reflect the confidence of a brand that knows exactly who it is.
We also directed photography and video across farms, cattle and the team, making sure every image felt authentic, characterful and in step with the bigger brand.
Built to grow
This project was a great example of how stepping outside your usual space can bring new energy to the work. We might be best known in the construction and manufacturing world, but we bring the same rigour, creativity and strategic smarts to everything we do.
A huge thank you to the British Herefords team for their trust, collaboration and insight. And to the Ripple crew who brought this to life - your talent and tenacity never fail to impress.
